This site is intentionally source-forward. The calculator should be easy to check against public data.
Primary calculator source
The calculator uses the Social Security Administration actuarial life table for 2023, as used in the 2026 Social Security Trustees Report. The table lists remaining life expectancy by exact age and sex.
Values are embedded in the site so the calculator works quickly without asking for a server lookup.
Supporting context
CDC/NCHS life table reports are used for broader educational context about U.S. life expectancy and mortality reporting.
Source links are included on relevant pages so readers can inspect the public references directly.
Update policy
When new official tables are used, the site should update the calculator data, source labels, and sitemap metadata together.
Because small changes in life table values can change many derived results, source-year labels should always be visible.
